Sun Hung Kai & Co. Ltd Around the Island Race 2022: A Sea Carnival that Embracing around 230 Sail Boats in Victoria Harbour

Sponsored by Sun Hung Kai & Co. Ltd and organised by Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC), the Sun Hung Kai & Co. Around the Island Race (ATIR) was held yesterday, 20 November 2022 with around 230 sail boats and about 1,500 sailors gathering at Victoria Harbour to compete against each other. ATIR is a ‘sea carnival’ that embraces all types of sail boats covering 23 classes, with the first class having started at 0830hrs and the last taking off at 1110hrs. The complete racetrack was about 45km starting at Causeway Bay, with all teams sailing clockwise around Hong Kong Island, passing North Point, Chai Wan, Shek O, Stanley, Aberdeen, Sheung Wan, Cyberport and back to the finish line in front of RHKYC’s Kellett Island Clubhouse in Causeway Bay.
