HKSF Dinghy Level 1 & Level 2 Course – February 2024 to March 2025

It is never too late to learn! Everyone can start their sailing journey at any age. In order for anyone in the age of 12 or above to have equal opportunities to experience sailing, HKSF has decided to introduce HKSF level 1 and 2 five-day Dinghy course. The course will follow strictly upon the HKSF Syllabus for Dinghy and Keelboat Sail Training Scheme, to give you direct access towards becoming a qualified sailor. Students will spend 5 days at the HKSF Little Palm Beach Sailing Centre. With its beautiful and peaceful environment, the well-equipped facilities have long been renowned as a perfect breeding ground for sailors, suitable for those who are still new to sailing. Dinghy Instructor Revalidation / Validation – February 2024 to March 2025

HKSF Dinghy Instructors need to attend a short two-day “Revalidation” Course every 5 years. Overseas qualified Instructors can also become recognized to teach HKSF Courses by attending a two-day “Validation” Course. HKSF Supervised Sailing February 2024 to March 2025

You have learned to sail, but would like to practice and perhaps explore further the fun of sailing – HKSF Supervised Sailing will be for you to participate. You will be under the supervision of a certified sailing instructor while you sail and roam freely with other students on the waters of Little Palm Beach, working on your own skills. The instructor will also offer you tips and advice to improve, but there will be no fixed syllabus. HKSF Dinghy Spinnaker and Trapeze Technique – February 2024 to January 2025

Using 420 dinghies to learn the use of the downwind symmetrical spinnaker and the trapeze technique. On the completion of the course, the successful sailor should be able to rig, hoist, sail, gybe and recover a spinnaker and be able to use a trapeze in moderate wind conditions. The course will follow strictly upon the HKSF Syllabus for Dinghy and Keelboat Sail Training Scheme. HKSF Feeder Scheme – Youth Learn to Sail – Junior Sail 1 – May 2024 to August 2024

The HKSF Feeder Scheme is a subsidised grass-roots learn-to sail programme for those aged between 8 to 12 yrs, it runs annually and provides 4 different levels of courses. Young participants are expected to learn about basic skills of competitive sailing at the minimum, building a solid foundation for continuous development. Students can apply for courses of further levels after passing the assessment, to advance their skills. 67th Festival of Sport Sailing Fun Day

The 67th Festival of Sport Sailing Fun Day will be held from 25th to 26th May 2024.During the two-day event, we will be offering a total of four sessions, with two sessions per day. The participation fee per each session is only $120. We will accommodate 25 people in each session, allowing a total of 100 participants over the course of the two days. To participate in the fun day, individuals must meet certain criteria. Firstly, participants must be over 8 years old. Additionally, those who wish to take part in the water sailing experience must be capable of swimming for at least 50 meters while wearing clothes. It’s important to note that the deadline for applications is May 10, 2024. Due to limited quota availability, we will be accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re interested in joining, we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible to secure your spot. Young participants are expected to learn about basic skills of competitive sailing at the minimum, building a solid foundation for continuous development. Students can apply for courses of further levels after passing the assessment, to advance their skills. HKSF Dinghy Level 3 Course – January 2024 to March 2025

For those who have completed the HKSF Level 1 & Level 2 Course and would like to improve their technique, the HKSF dinghy Level 3 five-day Course is a great choice. The course will follow strictly upon the HKSF Syllabus for Dinghy and Keelboat Sail Training Scheme. To successfully demonstrate the required skills, it is required that at least part of the course will be taught in double-handed dinghies.
