Course Information

Using 420 dinghies to learn the use of the downwind symmetrical spinnaker and the trapeze technique. On the completion of the course, the successful sailor should be able to rig, hoist, sail, gybe and recover a spinnaker and be able to use a trapeze in moderate wind conditions.

The course will follow strictly upon the HKSF Syllabus for Dinghy and Keelboat Sail Training Scheme.

13,14,20,21 April 2024 (Enrolment will be accepted on 1 February 2024)
17,18,24,25 August 2024 (Enrolment will be accepted on 1 June 2024)
4,5,11,12 January 2025 (Enrolment will be accepted on 1 November 2024)

Capacity: 6 students per class
Eligibility: Anyone who have passed Level 3 and logged minimum 40 sailing hours (minimum 20 hours as helm)
Training Time: 09:00 – 17:00
Course Fee: $3,200 per person (Courses before March 2024), $3,500 per person (Courses after March 2024)

Arrangement under Inclement Weather
Courses will be cancelled if the Hong Kong Observatory issued RED or BLACK rainstorm warning signal, typhoon signal No. 3 or higher at 7am.
For strong monsoon signal or thunderstorm warning, the course will be held as usual. Instructor will arrange suitable tasks regard to the prevailing weather conditions.
If course cancelled due to inclement weather, makeup class will be arranged. Please contact the course instructor for further information.
