HKSF Dinghy Level 3 Course – September 2025 to December 2025
For those who have completed the HKSF Level 1 & Level 2 Course and would like to improve their technique, the HKSF dinghy Level 3 five-day Course is a great choice. The course will follow strictly upon the HKSF Syllabus for Dinghy and Keelboat Sail Training Scheme. To successfully demonstrate the required skills, it is required that at least part of the course will be taught in double-handed dinghies. Courses on WEEKENDS or PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: 6,7,13,14,20 September 2025 (Enrolment accepted on 1 July 2025) 6,7,13,24,20 December 2025 (Enrolment accepted on 1 October 2025) Capacity: 8 students per class Eligibility: Anyone who have passed Level 2 and logged 40 sailing hours Training Time: 09:00 – 17:00 Course Fee: $3,500 per person Arrangement under Inclement Weather Courses will be cancelled if the Hong Kong Observatory issued RED or BLACK rainstorm warning signal, typhoon signal No. 3 or higher at 7am. For strong monsoon signal or thunderstorm warning, the course will be held as usual. Instructor will arrange suitable tasks regard to the prevailing weather conditions. HKSF Development Squad Training Program 2025 (Phase 2)
Subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the Sailing Federation of Hong Kong, China has launched the phase 2 of the HKSF development squad training program 2025, which aims to provide continuous and systematic training for young people who are interested in continuing to sail. Students with outstanding performance will be recommended to join the regional squad for further training. Target: Youths between the ages of 8 to 12 Eligibility: Holder of HKSF Junior Sail 3 or HKSF Level 2 certificate or equivalent experience Training Fee: $1,760 per person for one training block (8 training sessions) Training Venue: HKSF Little Palm Beach Sailing Centre – Hang Hau Wing Lung Road, Clear Water Bay No selection is required, and space is available on a first come, first served basis. Sailing Trip July 2025 to September 2025
Course Information: For those who have already mastered the basics of sailing. This trip is perfect for sailors looking to expand their skills and explore the beautiful waters of Sai Kung. Gain valuable experience in distance sailing, navigating open waters, and managing different wind conditions. Instructors will provide guidance and support throughout the journey. Subvented by the LCSD, HKSF is pleased to announce 2024 HKSF level 1 and 2 five-day Dinghy course which is suitable for anyone between the ages of 12 to 16 to enroll. The course will strictly follow the HKSF Syllabus for Dinghy and Keelboat Sail Training Scheme, to give direct access towards becoming a qualified sailor. HKSF Start Racing – July-August 2025
Course Information: This two-day course introduces participants to dinghy racing. It covers essential racing knowledge, rules, techniques, and strategies, allowing you to experience the excitement of racing firsthand. Whether you are eager to compete or simply want to enjoy the thrill of the sport, this course will provide a solid foundation to start your racing journey. HKSF Dinghy Spinnaker and Trapeze Technique – June 2025 to January 2026
Using 420 dinghies to learn the use of the downwind symmetrical spinnaker and the trapeze technique. On the completion of the course, the successful sailor should be able to rig, hoist, sail, gybe and recover a spinnaker and be able to use a trapeze in moderate wind conditions. The course will follow strictly upon the HKSF Syllabus for Dinghy and Keelboat Sail Training Scheme. HKSF Pre-Entry Assessment Practice
The Pre-Entry Assessment Practice Day is designed for candidates preparing for the pre-entry assessment. This practice session is an excellent opportunity for those who have applied for the upcoming assessment to familiarize themselves with the venue and equipment. Pre-Entry Assessment participants will receive priority access to this session. Additionally, this course is suitable for sailors who have passed the HKSF Advanced Skills level and are interested in understanding the requirements for the pre-entry assessment. HKSF Feeder Scheme – Youth Learn to Sail : Junior Sail 1-4 – May 2025 to August 2025
The HKSF Feeder Scheme is a subsidised grass-roots learn-to sail programme for those aged between 8 to 12 yrs, it runs annually and provides 4 different levels of courses. On completion of the two-day junior sailor 4 course, successful sailors will be able to race a dinghy round a simple course in medium winds and have a basic understanding of starting, race techniques and racing rules. Young participants are expected to learn about basic skills of competitive sailing at the minimum, building a solid foundation for continuous development. Students can apply for courses of further levels after passing the assessment, to advance their skills. HKSF Supervised Sailing April 2025 to March 2026
You have learned to sail, but would like to practice and perhaps explore further the fun of sailing – HKSF Supervised Sailing will be for you to participate. You will be under the supervision of a certified sailing instructor while you sail and roam freely with other students on the waters of Little Palm Beach, working on your own skills. The instructor will also offer you tips and advice to improve, but there will be no fixed syllabus. HKSF is pleased to announce 2025 HKSF Easter Training Camp level 1 and 2 five-day Dinghy course which is suitable for anyone between the ages of 12 to 16 to enroll. The course will strictly follow the HKSF Syllabus for Dinghy and Keelboat Sail Training Scheme, to give direct access towards becoming a qualified sailor. Students will spend 5 days at the HKSF Little Palm Beach Sailing Centre. With its beautiful and peaceful environment, the well-equipped facilities have long been renowned as a perfect breeding ground for sailors, suitable for those who are totally new to sailing. Organised by the HKSF, in order to make it more accessible and affordable for interested parties and complete beginners, the whole course will only cost $3,500 per person.
