The fourth day (31 July) of the Olympic Men’s Skiff 49er event concluded the final three races in the Opening Series. The top 10 ranked teams will compete in the Medal Race tomorrow (1 August).
This is the first time in the history that Hong Kong qualified for the Skiff (49er) class in the Olympic Games. Akira and Russell worked very hard through the races. Despite the fierce competition, they managed to get one 9th, two 12th and two 14th place, even though they finished 20th in the overall result and could not enter the medal race. We believe this is only the beginning for Hong Kong sailors to shine in this sailing class and Hong Kong sailors will continue to strive for excellence!
